GKA Investigations Group staff present at AAFI 201628 Oct 2016
GKA Investigations Group CEO Greg Kelly and Laboratory Manager Alexander Visotin both presented at the Australasian Association of Fire Investigators 2016 Conference in Coogee, Sydney. The biennial conference featured speakers from all around the world, and showcased research relating to all aspects of fire science.
Greg Kelly delivered a presentation on the use of electrical artefacts such as arcing in fire cause and origin determinations. These indicators must be interpreted correctly to ensure the correct fire cause is determined.
Alexander Visotin gave a presentation discussing the analysis of vegetable oil residues, some of which have a tendency to self-heat (spontaneous combustion). Analysis of these residues in the laboratory was discussed. A copy of Alexander's presentation can be downloaded here.
