Forensic Fire Examiner/Laboratory Analyst Trainee
Alexandar is part of the new generation of fire examiners being trained at GKAIG. He works in both the field and in our laboratory. He is an experienced laboratory technician, having spent two years with Australian Laboratory Services where he tested samples for major government and industry clients.
He first chose to study forensic science as he felt that it was a field of work where problem solving and critical thinking skills are thoroughly applied and rewarded. He was also fascinated in a career where science and scene examinations were used in combination with each other at any given time. Alexandar believes that forensic science plays a vital role in not only the criminal and civil justice systems, but also within the insurance industry.
Alexandar completed his Bachelor of Forensic Biology in Biomedical Science in 2017 and then went on to complete his Master of Science (Major in Forensic Science) in 2019. He chose to continue further studies with his Masters degree as he wished to gain more exposure and knowledge on several specific areas of forensic science, such as Forensic Toxicology, Chemical Criminalistics and Fire Investigation & Explosions.
He enjoys the diversity that his job at GKAIG entails as he is able to move between report writing, field work and laboratory analysis on any given day. He particularly enjoys acquiring new knowledge and skills while constantly learning from the more experienced members of the team.
In his spare time, Alexandar goes to the gym regularly and also enjoys a multitude of sports, both playing and watching soccer, rugby league, basketball, MMA and cricket. He is also a video game enthusiast and music lover who plays both electric and acoustic guitar and enjoys listening to a wide range of genres in hip-hop, RnB, rock, reggae and heavy metal.
